For 2012, Decarto Consulting will be adding video production to our list of services. Communicating with your end-users is what we're all about, and video can bring your message to a whole new audience.

Marshall Mcluhan coined the phrase "The medium is the message," and in many ways this holds true with cartography today. Maps are being transformed from static images into a full-fledged medium of communication as our ability to interact with them becomes increasingy complex. As our communicative bandwidth expands, so does our desire to go beyond the map and into more visual and auditory stimuli. Today, Google Maps is a content in and of itself, but it is also a medium for the delivery of a number of different types of media such as Street View imagery.

Decarto Consulting is expanding our video production capacity with the goal of exploring the audio/visual realm of communication, and how it can used to advance our communicative and cartographic experiences. Check back on www.decartoconsulting.com to hear about our upcoming video projects.
